The Intrecciato weave was born in the 1960s at Bottega Veneta’s atelier in Vicenza, Italy.

When the House’s early sewing machines proved too delicate for thick leather, artisans began cutting and weaving the hides by hand; a technique that became both a necessity and a symbol of quiet craftsmanship.

Over time, this woven leather evolved into the unmistakable hallmark of Bottega Veneta: appearing across bags, shoes, and small accessories as a sign of discreet luxury and artisanal mastery.

MODERN INTERPRETATION

Today, the Intrecciato remains at the heart of the brand’s identity, continually reinterpreted in new materials and forms.

THE EYEWEAR

In eyewear, the weave’s geometry is translated into subtle textural details and reintroduced in acetate to echo the rhythm of the original handwoven leather. Each piece carries forward Bottega Veneta’s belief that true luxury lies in craftsmanship, not in logos.
